Lifelike Dental Crowns
At Masterpiece Smiles you can get lifelike dental crowns to restore your teeth to normal functionality and a more appealing appearance. A crown is a porcelain cap that covers a tooth, returning it to its normal size and shape. We usually recommend this treatment when a significant portion of the tooth has been lost through trauma or decay.
There are several types of crowns available, but the materials we will use for your procedure are always strong, durable, and match the appearance of the rest of your teeth.
We can use dental crowns to:
- Restore damaged teeth
- Strengthen or reinforce a weak tooth
- Replace a very discolored tooth
- Support a tooth with a large filling
- To support a bridge
- Make simple cosmetic changes
- Cover a dental implant
What to Expect from the Procedure
Receiving your lifelike crown will require a couple visits. During your first appointment, we’ll examine the tooth and, if possible, start shaping it so it will be ready to take the crown. This may require filling a major cavity or filing it down into the proper shape. Then, we’ll make impressions of it and the surrounding teeth and send the information to a lab so they can create your custom-fit dental crown.
On your second visit, we’ll bond it in place and provide instruction on how to care for and maintain your new crown.
